German castles – Kronberg Castle Market Fest

Burg Kronberg was a very busy place on Pentecost Sunday and Monday. The opening of the Mittelaltermarkt on Sunday morning attracted many visitors, and walking around the castle grounds one could hear many different languages. Combined with the visitors dressed up in Middle Ages garb (made for a free entrance of otherwise € 3 p. p.), one could easily imagine being in a different time and place. There were many savory snacks, sounds, smells, and sights – all related to the Middle Ages.

A unique welcome - a child's laundry hanging high above our heads.
