A new face for Camp King Germany
Saturday, November 28th, 2009Sometime around September, scaffolding went up on one of the last original military housing buildings in Camp King, Oberursel. The paint job was completed a couple of weeks ago, but renovation continues with the installment of new building doors in progress.

Camp King in its original color
The new color matches the rest of this otherwise modern settlement – a very light gray to compliment the other townhouses in the area.

A new face for Camp King
My preference for its original sandy color stems from a bit of nostalgia, I admit. But choosing this drab gray color for a new coat only makes it blend in with the rest of the settlement. I’d suppose this was the city council’s intention…
The nail that sticks out – or reminds us of our past – gets hammered down.
