FIS 50th Anniversary
Reminder:
A day-long celebration helps kick off the 50th Anniversary of FIS/ISW on 19 January 2011.
If you are a present or past student, parent, teacher or member of the Rhine-Main community who has been involved with the school, please see the following list of planned activities and discover ways to get involved in the celebration. After all, a part of our history belongs to you!
FIS 50th Anniversary
2011 marks the 50th Anniversary of Frankfurt International School (FIS).
In 1961, the school was founded by a small group of parents who sought to provide a high-standard English education for children in the Rhein-Main area. Fifty years later, FIS continues to be a leading provider of international education with English as the primary language of instruction.
Next to a packed calendar with various events throughout the remainder of the current school year, FIS is also seeking photographs and other memorabilia from the 1960s to the present day to showcase the last 50 years at FIS. All contributions will be gratefully received and can be returned after the events. Have a great memory of your days at FIS? Write an anecdote or short story about it and email your written words to Michele Weimar.
FIS is trying to reach as many former students, parents, and faculty as possible, so please help spread the word about its 50th Anniversary Celebration and Alumni Reunion weekend. Alumni should contact the Alumni Office for more details, or join the FIS Alumni group (“Valerie Cannon”) on Facebook.
The next few months will be a very exciting time at FIS. The school has shaped the lives of thousands of students over the past 50 years and they look forward to celebrating the school’s history with you.
