I got in contact with Mr. Hujer through one of my blog readers, Jack Stites. Jack, who had worked at the Motor Pool from 1954 – 1955, then contributed some photos for this publication.

FIS Oberursel History book

The Frankfurt International School (FIS) history book, documenting its 50-year history, is just hot off the press. Luci Grass and Clive Fenner did a stupendous job capturing the spirit of the school and spent many, many hours spent gathering and recording the history of FIS over the past 50 years.

The book is available in the school libraries, but if you want your own personal copy, you can purchase these for €20 at the reception desk in Old Main. Luci and Clive will also be available to sign personal copies of the book during the alumni/faculty party on 20.05 from 18:30 – 19:30 and at Worldfest from 12:30-14:30.

For those not able to make to the school or living abroad, the book can be ordered online at Jeremy Mills Publishing (£ 17,99 plus postage and handling).

Frankfurt International School 50th Anniversary Film Clip

Unfortunately, the film clip is no longer available.

From our Head of School:

The last few months have certainly reminded us to expect the unexpected. I began this month wanting to make note of the many exceptional opportunities and learning that take place at FIS.

As we all live and learn here in Germany, other families have been evacuating Cairo, Libya and Japan, en route to join our special community. Our school has welcomed these families and children with open arms.
