Osterhase is the name given in Germany to the Easter Bunny.
The tradition, which dates back to the 17th Century, says that the Osterhase decorates eggs at Easter and hides them in people’s gardens, although the practise became more common in the 20th Century.
Children go out into the garden on Easter Sunday and look for the eggs.

1982 Tom Brown and myself, spouse, and two daughters transferred to Camp King from Picatinny Arsenal as Army Civilians.
4th TRANSCOM we were assigned to- along side with Larry Blanchard, Sgt , Alan Prysock-Civilian.
I worked at the civilian library on Camp King for a while. Then moved over to Corps of Engineers in Frankfurt 1984.
We had so much fun at the Easter Egg hunts at Camp King, every year at the Officer’s Club. I remember having a great brunch inside the club after.
We just loved Camp King and all it’s vast history. Quite amazing! We remained in Germany 16 years for me, 18 years for Tom and daughters. We lived in Bad Homburg, Oberursel, Grossbundenbach, Fulda and back to Landstuhl Zweibruecken. Wow! It was Fantastic!
