List of Christmas Markets in Germany

Glühwein, Lebkuchen and Mini Lebkuchen
It is hard to believe, but Christmas Market time is about to start again in Germany. A few are as early as this coming Sunday 22 Nov, such as the one held in the Franconian castle Schloss Zeilitzheim.
Most others start on the First Advent, 29 November 2009. The big town markets run for four weeks all the way up to Christmas Eve, whereas the small towns usually have it for a few days only (Thu – Sun) as it is in our town of Oberursel/Taunus (26 – 29 November).
Whether you are a new expat to Germany or have been living here for a while, Christmas market hopping does not get boring, especially with the help of mulled wine. Attending a local or out-of-town market is one of the nicest things to do with your family on one of these quiet Sundays. Snowfall on these Christmas market days would make it idyllic, but in recent years there has been very little of it.
If you are not in Germany, but dream of visiting here during pre-Christmas time, then take a look at the following comprehensive websites to help your dreams along.
