The so called Mountain Lodge served as the Officers Club on Camp King from at least the 1960s through the 1980s. I ate plenty of meals there in the 70s when I was living near there with my family. I went to FIS (Frankfurt International School) just up the street from Camp King, for 3 years then moving down to Frankfurt High School for my senior year.

I went back in 2008 and visited Camp King. It sure has changed and it is a shame the old Officers club is boarded up.

I have just mailed the city archives to get more information. And you are right - there was hardly anything to be found.
But got lucky though as I was reading some church archives and found the address of the probably former guest house "Zum Weißen Roß". I am off by U-Bahn now to look it up. More later.

I was at Camp King from May, 1960 to July, 1964. We're actually having a small reunion of dependent children from that period here in Las Vegas at the end of April. We had the first one two years ago, in Mooresville, SC.

I loved it there, grew up there, made lifetime friends there.

My friends and I spent most of our time in two places. One was the Taunusblick, and the other was called "Zum Weissen Ross". The "Ross" was actually spelled with an ess-zet, but I cannot make one with this computer.

In any event, I would like to know if "Zum Weissen Ross" still exists. I can find the Taunusblick with no problem, but I can't find ZWR. I'd love to have a picture of it. We used to drink with the Germans, and party with them, and we put down many a Steiffel there. Anything anyone can do would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.
