Snowy Germany in the Forecast for 14 Oct 09
One of my German friends just related the weather forecast for Wednesday, 14 Oct 2009, to me. Arctic temperatures and snow are expected to hit the eastern and southern parts of Germany.
This forecast is hard to believe for mid-October in central Europe. But nevertheless, I will bring in the cacti from the balcony, be on the lookout for mulled wine in the supermarket, dig for my heavy socks in the far back of the drawer, and search for misplaced Christmas music CDs. Heck, we often have to go without snow on Christmas… might as well take advantage of it now.
If it did snow over here in the western part of Germany, I will be sure to post some pictures of it.
Here is Dean Martin’s youtube Let it snow – just for some more seasonal accompaniment while pondering whether this could be attributed to climate change…
At the time of this writing, the weather is already frightful with heavy winds, rain showers, and gloomy skies.
