The previous post Germany – the land of free education prompted inquires under comments and by e-mail from readers.
Currently it seems Asians are very interested in studying in Germany as their local educational demands to secure a job are almost getting out of hand. Where it used to be guaranteed to secure a good job if you graduated from a top university, or, as in the case of China where some female job seekers had their legs broken, reset and lengthened at hospital, to make sure to get a plush job – those days are long gone.
A foreign education will increase job prospects as there are too many otherwise common university graduates in parts of Asia.
Take a look at Study in Germany (in Chinese) to get more information.
Marburg Universität, for example, has a good number of Chinese/Taiwanese students.

For a list of top universities:
(Marburg ranks 368)
Deutsches Konsulat in Taiwan or Deutsche Botschaft Peking might be of more assistance.
Of course, the same students could go to university in the United States, where out-of-state tuition can run up to US $40,000 a year. Who’s got the money for this now..? Germany, with its € 500 tuition fee per semester seems like an educational haven in these precarious times.
