Long Compound Nouns in German
The German language is notorious for its long compound nouns. When I saw the word Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher ( a device to break the shell evenly when removing the top part), I actually had to use the search engine to see if this word had not been made up.
It isn’t. How have I lived so long without ever having heard this word or seen this gadget before…? And no, I do not plan on getting one for myself. But I will keep it in mind for one of those times when we need a present for somebody who seems to have everything already.

The readers I have heard back from are the ones who have given it away after a while.
Would it not be quicker just to give the egg a good whack:)?
