Christmas Market in a German Castle
On 22 November 2009, the German baroque Castle Zeilitzheim will open its doors again for its annual Arts and Crafts Christmas market.
75 vendors have their arts and crafts for sale in the castle’s court yard and cellar, while an organ grinder supplies the music and couples dressed in traditional garb stroll around the grounds.
Program:
10:30 – “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. 6th grade performance by the Egbert-Gymnasiums Münsterschwarzach. Location: conference room.
11:00 – Flame show in the garden, presented by the duo Firlefanz, Jonglage and Varieté, Matthias und Silke Ebert.
11:30 – Gerhart Seidel will be reading Christmas stories for children and adults.
12:00 – Another flame show in the garden.
13:00 – “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens.
14:30 – “Christmas Carols”. Christmas music and songs. Katja Tschirwitz und Anna Nesyba will be singing and performing in various rooms throughout the castle and Thomas Kerzel will be singing English songs.
15:00 – “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens.
15:00 – “Arm und Reich – regiert Geld die Welt?” based on Charles Dickens. Café and Cabaret.
16:00 – Santa and a bunch of angels (not reindeer!) will be handing out goodies to the children.
Enjoy a visit to the Castle Café or browse the book market in the guesthouse “Zur Sonne” (across from the castle).
Entrance fee to the castle’s market: € 3,00 for adults, children are free.
