Two days ago, we were taking the U-Bahn home after a visit to the English movie theatre in Frankfurt, when we got to see one of the most beautiful rainbows.

It caught everyone’s attention and I believe the U-Bahn even slowed down for us so we could appreciate this ride through the open fields while admiring this beautiful sight. One foreign passenger next to me on the U-Bahn inquired about the German word for rainbow (=Regenbogen) which made me wonder whether every language has a word for it.
